    Thank you for the frank discussion on root canals. I have read many articles, including one from the ADA, and none provided me as much unbiased information as your transcript. I am especially glad that you mentioned long term success rates. All other articles say “may last your lifetime”, but give no statisic in terms of actual years. I would think the ADA would poll their members to get some hard data. Some insurance company allow for a new root canal after 8 years. Seems an awfully short “life time”. You rock!

      Glad you found the discussion helpful. While I’ve had many years of success with root canal treatment, I find the lack of predictability (in my experience) one of the most frustrating aspects of practice, both for myself and my patients. The more I live with root canals the more I like implants!
